Naked Man Floating Down Tennessee River Arrested After Refusing Help

Taking a stroll or fishing along a river tends to bring about a sense of peace for many people. They hope to escape the busy and oftentimes chaotic atmosphere of a city to experience the tranquility of nature. While they may occasionally comes across strange sights, like a snake hanging from some overhead trees or a massive fish that looks like it belongs to the prehistoric era, it's not every day that you find a naked man floating down the river.

According to the Green County Sheriff's Department, a man, identified as Troy Hunt, was arrested after he was seen floating down the Nolichucky River in East Tennessee, per WKRN. He reportedly jumped into the water near Ripley Island Road outside Greeneville.

Hunt denied assistance and refused help from rescuers after emergency personnel tried to bring him to shore, all the while singing "God Bless the U.S.A.," the news outlet reports. He was eventually captured and brought to shore at the Kinser Park boat ramp, about 10 miles from where he entered the river.

No other information regarding the incident has been released, such as why he jumped into the river without clothes. Hunt was arrested and is facing multiple charges including indecent exposure and disorderly conduct.
