Titans RB Derrick Henry Named Offense Player of the Month for October

Buffalo Bills v Tennessee Titans

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry was named AFC Offensive Player of the Month for October on Thursday.

The announcement was made on NFL Network's 'Good Morning Football' Thursday morning, according to the Titans' official website.

Henry averaged an NFL leading 114.7 rushing yards per game and conference-high 344 yards on 6.1 attempts, while also recording a league-high five rushing touchdowns during the month of October. The running back's stellar month was highlighted by a season-high 212 rushing yards during a victory against the Houston Texans, which also included a 94-yard touchdown run and 53-yard reception in overtime to set up his game-winning 5-yard touchdown run.

Henry also scored two touchdowns on 57 rushing yards during a win over the Buffalo Bills, which included a now viral stiff-arm on Bills cornerback Josh Norman and a 75-yard, one-touchdown performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers during the month of October.

Henry had previously been named AFC Offensive Player of the Month in December 2018. The former Heisman Trophy winner currently leads the NFL with 663 rushing yards and seven touchdowns during his first six games.

Henry finished the 2019 season as the NFL's leading rusher. The former University of Alabama standout is the second Titans player to receive player of the month honors this season.

Kicker Stephen Gostkowski was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September.
