Which Tennessee ZIP codes donated the most money for the 2020 Presidential Election?
Data compiled by the New York Times from the Federal Election Commission has revealed donations made by American residents to Democratic nominee, former Vice President Joe Biden, and President Donald Trump from April 1 through October 14.
The study included the name and ZIP code of each donor, which revealed Biden outraised Trump in 32,000 populated ZIP codes, with a total of $1.07 billion to $734 million in the last six months of campaigning, FOX 17 News reports. Middle Tennessee counties were among the highest donations in the state of Tennessee.
One of Biden's strongest ZIP codes was 37215, which includes areas in Belle Meade and Forrest Hills, and reportedly raised an estimated $1.191 million to Trump's $372,483. The 37205 ZIP code, which also includes Belle Meade, included 1,391 donors raising $699,608 compared to Trump's 458 donors and $460,000.
One of Trump's largest total of donations came in the 37069 ZIP code in Williamson County, which includes Franklin. The president reportedly raised an estimated $624,299 to Biden's $120,334, despite Biden having 56 more donors from the area.
