November 5th Taco Bell is removing the beloved Mexican Pizza, pico de gallo and shredded chicken from the menu.
Discarding the Mexican Pizza is part of the company's eco-friendly commitment: Packaging for the item amounts to more than 7 million pounds of paperboard per year.
Pico de gallo will be replaced with diced tomatoes. Taking away shredded chicken means three chicken items — shredded chicken soft taco, shredded chicken burrito, and shredded chicken quesadilla melt — will be gone from the menu.
Taco Bell has already removed about a dozen items including the 7-Layer Burrito, Nachos Supreme and the Beefy Fritos Burrito. The company explained that it was necessary during the pandemic.
A lot of people took to social media to express their disappointment about the latest cuts.
