"Empire" Star Jussie Smollett Was Brutally Attacked In A Hate Crime

"Empire" star Jussie Smollett was bruttally attacked early this morning in what Chicago police are calling a possible hate crime.

Smollett who has stars as Jamal on the hit Fox show "Empire since 2015 portrays a gay singer and member of the Lyons family.

Smollett who like the character her portrays is gay and was attacked by two people "yelling out racial and homophobic slurs" and then they poured an unknown chemical on him. Chicago police say one of the alleged attackers also put a rope around his neck. Both fled the scene.

Smollett took himself to Northwestern Hospital and is said to be understandably upset and shaken but in good condition.
