Erica Campbell Once Contemplated Suicide

First Lady Erica Campbell of the Grammy Award winning gospel duo Mary Mary revealed that she once contemplated suicide.

The confession was made during this week's episode of her new TV One reality show "We're The Campbells."

Erica shared with her husband, Warryn Campbell the renowned music producer/pastor, for the first time: "I remember when I was 12 we were living in Inglewood and I tried to kill myself, something was telling me to just slice your wrist in the kitchen."

The couple has been together for almost 20 years and he was shocked and alarmed that he never knew that about his wife.

"I heard that voice but I thank God for the prayer that was going on in my house, cause I knew not to do that," she added. "Now I know that it was the enemy trying to take my life even as a young girl. I don't think I've ever told anybody or shared that with anybody."

"We're The Campbells" began airing June 19. The docu-series gives viewers an inside glimpse into the lives of Warryn, Erica, their three children, Warryn Jr., Zaya and teenager Krista and how they navigate being an entertainment powerhouse couple, pastoring a church and family life.
