Sharing a group photo of himself with the ladies of “The Real,” Tamera Mowry-Housley, Adrienne Bailon, Loni Love, and Jeannie Mai, the “I Hit It First” singer captioned the pic, “Looks like a got a new job!!! Stay tuned!! #TheRealwithRayJ #telepictures#DaytimeTV“.
Many fans were left shaken by the news. One Instagram user responded with “I don’t (think) a guy should be the one to be the 5th person, it needs to be a girl sorry.”
Another said, “Ray J becoming a co-host on The Real makes no sense to me.”
Others took to Twitter wondering if Ray J is simply “auditioning” for a permeant spot on the daytime talk show.
“I’m hoping #RayJ is just a guest host,” a Twitter user wrote. “I can’t see him on there permanently.”
If Ray were to join the panel of ladies, he would be the replacement for Braxton, who left the Emmy-winning Fox talk show after Season 2 in May 2016.
But as it turns out, Ray J was pulling a fast one. “The Real” co-hosts have reportedly confirmed that it’s not true about him joining their team. He simply posted the pic above for fun.
Wishful thinking, perhaps.
