LEGENDARY COACH JOHN THOMPSON HAS PASSED AWAY AT 78

Breaking News: Legendary Georgetown Hoyas Coach John Thompson has passed away at 78. The Hall of Famer became the first African-American head coach to win the NCAA National Championship, leading the Hoyas to the 1984 title. He coached Georgetown for 27 seasons.

Thompson is a Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee and three-time Big East Coach of the Year, he retired from coaching in 1999.
